Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026. Dattero is an invite-only restaurant journal. This policy summarizes how we handle personal data during the closed alpha.
What we collect
- Account identity managed by Neon Auth (email, session cookies, optional OAuth profile fields).
- Dattero profile data you provide (handle, display name, bio, avatar URL).
- Restaurant ratings, visit dates, optional notes, Want to Go / Favorites, follows, blocks, and reports.
- Invitation and waitlist records needed to operate closed access.
- First-party product analytics events without passwords, tokens, or private attribution content in logs.
How we use data
We use your data to provide the product, enforce invite-only access, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. Want to Go entries and recommendation attributions remain private to you. Ratings and favorites are visible to signed-in members unless blocked.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Infrastructure providers (Vercel hosting, Neon Postgres/Auth) process data to run the service. Restaurant owners do not receive private user information.
Retention and deletion
You can export or delete your Dattero account from Settings. Deletion disables your profile and removes follow edges. Auth credentials remain under Neon Auth until removed through that provider’s recovery/deletion tools. See also our retention notes in the account deletion procedure.
Contact
Questions about privacy during the alpha can be sent through the waitlist contact path on dattero.app/signup.
